Snowplow is releasing a new set of data models to build on and unify existing data models with a Unified Digital model, Media model and a Video and Media Analytics Accelerator.
Unified Digital model: Seamless cross-platform identity stitching
The new Unified Digital Model connects journeys across web and mobile to deliver cross-platform tracking and deterministic identity resolution out-of-the-box. With customers moving between different platforms and touchpoints, data and marketing teams need to accurately identify and stitch customer journeys to build a unified view for downstream data applications.
Journey stitching previously required a custom data model for every Snowplow install, with significant development and debug time. The model aggregates web and mobile events into a simple set of derived tables: users, sessions and views.
The new Unified Digital Model supersedes the existing web and mobile models and works even you only have web of mobile trackers, but with the flexibility to add additional platforms later.
The new model is released under the Snowplow Personal and Academic License (SPAL) and is available as part of our Data Model Pack. Snowplow customers who have purchased Snowplow BDP can use the model at no additional charge. Read more in our dedicated blog post.
Video and Media Analytics Accelerator: Second-by-second video reporting
Our new Accelerator is a combination of data models and visualisations to give you a detailed view of how customers interact with your videos and ads. You can combine video and advertising tracking data at the user, session and page/screenview level with your existing event data to understand how much video is making a difference. Combined with the enhancements made to the media model this year, you now have a powerful tool to understand user engagement.
The new model is released under the Snowplow Personal and Academic License (SPAL) and is available as part of our Data Model Pack. Snowplow customers who have purchased Snowplow BDP can use the model at no additional charge. Read more in our dedicated blog post.
